Questions & Answers

What is a Vault?

A Vault is your personal photo storage allocation on Litecissa. Each Vault tier gives you a set number of photo slots. You purchase a Vault once, and your photos are permanently stored on the decentralized Arweave network. There are no recurring fees.

Why photo count?

Photo count makes it easy to understand exactly how many memories you can store. Most users think in terms of photos, not gigabytes. It keeps the pricing model simple and predictable.

Can I upgrade my Vault?

Yes. You can upgrade to a higher Vault tier at any time by paying the difference between your current tier and the new one. Your existing photos and storage are preserved — upgrading simply unlocks more capacity.

What is Arweave and how does it work?

Arweave is a decentralized storage network designed for permanent data retention. It operates on a pay-once model — once data is written to the network, it is replicated across independent nodes and intended to remain accessible indefinitely. Files stored on Arweave cannot be deleted or modified by anyone, including us.

Will my photos be deleted if I stop paying or if Litecissa shuts down?

No. Your encrypted photo data lives on the Arweave network, which is independent of Litecissa's servers. Even if your account is closed or our service goes offline, your files stay on the permanent network. You can always retrieve them with your encryption key.

How does the encryption work?

Your photos are encrypted end-to-end using AES-256-GCM before they leave your device. The encryption key is derived from your password and never transmitted in plaintext. Without your key, nobody — including us — can view your photos. Note: some non-sensitive metadata (such as upload timestamps and transaction IDs) is stored unencrypted to support library management.

What does local-first mean?

All changes are written to your browser's local storage before being synced anywhere else. This means you maintain full control over your library data and can continue browsing your collection even when offline. You can export your data and leave at any time.
